Dreamcloud Mattress Review

If you're looking to purchase a mattress online but still want a high-quality bed that's built to last, DreamCloud, a brand under the parent company Resident (which also owns Nectar), offers an impressive lineup of mattresses. Each bed has a hybrid construction, which means they contain a combination of coils and memory foam.

In this DreamCloud mattress review, we take a closer look at each mattress, who they're best for, and how they performed in the sleep lab. The sleep experts at Mattress Advisor put each DreamCloud mattress through a series of tests to see how they held up in categories like spine alignment, pressure relief, and more. We took their findings and compiled them in a comprehensive review so you can determine which DreamCloud bed is the best mattress for you.

  • Mattress Advisor score: 9.0/10
  • Firmness: Medium-firm
  • Trial Period: 365 nights

Out of all of the beds Mattress Advisor testers have experienced, the DreamCloud Luxury Hybrid (also known as DreamCloud's original model) is one of their favorites. That's because it uses a tried-and-true hybrid construction consisting of coils and memory foam layers to provide a dreamy night's rest. With high scores in virtually every category (spine alignment, pressure relief, responsiveness, cooling, and durability), the DreamCloud works for many kinds of sleepers and positions.

What We Like

  • Least expensive DreamCloud mattress but still a high-quality bed
  • Scored high in cooling (8.5/10); great for hot sleepers
  • Includes lifetime warranty and 1-year sleep trial

What We Don't Like

  • Doesn't have a plush top layer; might not suit those who want to sink into their bed more

Inside the DreamCloud Mattress

The DreamCloud mattress is made up of seven layers. For a bed priced at $1,000, this construction is one of the best we've seen. It starts off with a cashmere quilted cover followed by three foam layers, one of which is infused with gel.

Beneath these foam comfort layers lies a bed of 8-inch individually-wrapped coils. The coils help facilitate air flow through the rest of the mattress and also help sleepers change positions. Beneath this support layer lies a base layer of foam followed by a shift-resistant cover. We especially like that the cover has handles which makes it easier to position the mattress upon set-up.

DreamCloud Premier Mattress

DreamCloud Premier

SPECS

  • Mattress type: Hybrid (coils and foam)
  • Mattress Advisor score: 8.9/10
  • Firmness: Medium-firm
  • Trial Period: 365 nights
  • Warranty: Lifetime

A step up from the original DreamCloud, the DreamCloud Premier takes the famed hybrid construction up a couple notches. It's built with a memory foam layer designed specifically for pressure relief, making it a good choice for side sleepers and those with hip or shoulder pain. It also isolates motion well, which is great for couples who don't want to be disturbed by their partner's movements.

It's a bit more expensive than the original DreamCloud, but we still think it offers a lot of value for the price. And, similarly to the DreamCloud, the Premier scored high in nearly every category, making it a good fit for most sleepers.

CHECK PRICE

What We Like

  • Isolates motion well (9/10 score); great for couples who sleep together
  • Great value (moderate price point for a high-quality bed)
  • Includes lifetime warranty and 1-year sleep trial
  • Cooling and breathable
  • Comes with a Cashmere blend cover

What We Don't Like

  • Medium-firm feel (falls at a 6.5 out of 10 on the firmness scale) so might not suit those who want a softer mattress

Inside the DreamCloud Premier Mattress

The only difference between the DreamCloud's construction and the DreamCloud Premier is the inclusion of a pressure-relieving memory foam layer. The Premier contains seven layers of foam and coils just like the DreamCloud, but minus the gel-infusion. While gel-infused foam can sleep cooler than regular foam, the Premier still sleeps cool overall thanks to its coil base which promotes plenty of airflow.

DreamCloud Premier Rest Mattress

DreamCloud Premier Rest

SPECS

  • Mattress type: Hybrid (coils and foam)
  • Mattress Advisor score: 8.7/10
  • Firmness: Medium-firm
  • Trial Period: 365 nights
  • Warranty: Lifetime

The most luxurious of all the DreamCloud mattresses, the DreamCloud Premier Rest is the premier bed in this line-up. However, while its performance in pressure relief and responsiveness impressed testers, the Premier Rest didn't do so hot in spine alignment and edge support. Because of that, we don't recommend this bed for back or stomach sleepers, but it's still a good fit for side sleepers.

CHECK PRICE

What We Like

  • Excellent at relieving pressure (9.5/10 score); great for side sleepers and those with hip or shoulder pain
  • Includes lifetime warranty and 1-year sleep trial
  • Comes with an additional foam layer that conforms to the body
  • Scored high in responsiveness (9/10) which makes it easier to switch positions

What We Don't Like

  • Most expensive DreamCloud mattress
  • Lacking in spine alignment; not a good choice for some back and stomach sleepers
  • Scored low in edge support (7/10), sides of bed might falter when getting in and out

BUY: DreamCloud Premier Rest

Inside the DreamCloud Premier Rest Mattress

The one difference in the Premier Rest versus the previous two DreamCloud mattresses is an additional memory foam layer designed for support. With the inclusion of this layer, the Premier Rest has eight layers total. If you like the feeling of sinking into a soft surface, but still feeling supported overall, we think you'll like sleeping on the DreamCloud Premier Rest.

DreamCloud Pricing

DreamCloud is a mattress brand known for its top-notch quality, which makes all of their mattresses an incredible value for what you're getting.

The most affordable of the pack is the DreamCloud Luxury Hybrid, which is priced at $999 for a queen-size. Although this is the most budget-friendly pick out of the three, we think it fits the widest variety of sleepers thanks to its impressive performance in the mattress lab.

The DreamCloud Premier costs $1,399 for a queen-size. It provides a bit more pressure relief than the original DreamCloud but is still an all-around good pick for most sleepers.

Lastly, the Premier Rest is the most expensive option at $1,799 for a queen-size. It includes an additional layer of foam and is 2 inches thicker than the previous two beds.

It's also worth mentioning that online mattresses frequently go on sale. So, if you have your eye on a pricier bed like the DreamCloud Premier or the DreamCloud Premier Rest, keep an eye out for some serious savings around holidays like President's Day and Labor Day.

DreamCloud Company Policies: Everything You Need to Know

If you're a first-time online mattress buyer, here's the rundown on DreamCloud's purchasing and delivery policies:

Financing

For those who aren't able or simply aren't interested in dropping a ton of cash in one sitting, DreamCloud offers financing options through Affirm. With payments as low as $75 a month, you can pay for your mattress slowly over time rather than all at once.

Shipping and Delivery

DreamCloud beds ship and deliver within approximately 2-5 business days. Shipping and delivery are free (except for those in Alaska or Hawaii where shipping adds an additional $150). If you want to make your life easier when your new mattress arrives, you can pay extra ($149) for white glove delivery.

Sleep Trial and Warranty

A major pro to DreamCloud are its 365-night trial and lifetime warranty policies. That means you have a full year to sleep on the mattress and decide if it's right for you. You can return your DreamCloud mattress at any point during the first year for a full refund if you find it's not for you.

Each DreamCloud mattress also comes with a lifetime warranty so you're protected for as long as you own the mattress. If your mattress experiences any manufacturing issues like cracks or splitting in the base, you can file a claim. Should your claim be approved, DreamCloud will completely replace your mattress (in the first 10 years you own the bed) or completely repair and recover your mattress if you've owned the mattress for over 10 years.

Which DreamCloud Mattress is Right For You - Our Verdict

We're happy to report that we'd recommend any of these mattresses for sleepers. With the exception of the DreamCloud Premier Rest's lackluster performance in edge support and spine alignment (stomach and back sleepers should probably steer clear of this option), Mattress Advisor testers were blown away by how each of these beds performed in the sleep lab. Remember to keep your personal budget, sleep position, and comfort preferences in mind when selecting the best option for you.

FAQs About DreamCloud Mattresses

Is the DreamCloud mattress worth it?

Ultimately, it's up to you to decide if the mattress is worth your investment. But, based on the DreamCloud mattress' performance in the sleep lab and our personal experience with the brand, we think it's one of the best mattresses available online. High-quality, affordable, cooling, and suited for all sleep positions, the DreamCloud is a great option that's built to last. Plus, if you're nervous about purchasing a mattress online, it comes with a 365-night trial and lifetime guarantee.

Do DreamCloud mattresses get hot?

Each of the DreamCloud mattresses are hybrid beds, meaning they contain coils and foam. This helps them sleep cooler since the coils leave plenty of room for airflow.
